HCA Healthcare’s TriStar Health and Ascension St. Thomas, both of Nashville, Tenn., and part of St. Louis-based Ascension, have secured respective approvals to advance their hospital projects in Tennessee.
Ascension St. Thomas received approval from the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission to move forward with a new 44-inpatient bed hospital, which has future expansion capacity for 132 beds, according to a July 23 news release.
Ascension shared plans for the $148.5 million project in mid-May. The hospital is expected to create around 250 new jobs, and will comprise emergency care, inpatient surgery, cardiology, women’s health, neonatal intensive care, outpatient surgery, advanced imaging, and additional ambulatory and outpatient services.
HCA’s TriStar Health also received July 23 approval from the commission to move forward with its proposed TriStar Clarksville (Tenn.) Hospital, according to a LinkedIn post.
The health system shared plans to file a certificate-of-need application for the $286 million 213,000-square foot, 68-bed hospital in late May. The facility would also offer a 42-bed medical and surgical unit, a 12-bed emergency room, a 10-bed labor and delivery unit, an eight-bed ICU, an eight-bed level 2 NICU, four operating rooms, two cardiac catheterization labs, imaging services and inpatient dialysis.
