The repairs include expanding the pharmacy services and repairs to the heating, ventilation and cooling services. If one of the hospital’s cooling services were to go down, it could lose its level 3 trauma status.

The hospital is a state-funded facility run under the Hawaii Health Systems Corp. In 2022, the hospital received $2.5 million to plan and design oncology services.
