The 50-bed, 170,000-square-feet hospital will offer cardiac care, a catheterization laboratory, an intensive care unit, maternity care, pediatrics, outpatient and inpatient surgery, medical and radiation oncology, radiology and pulmonary care, according to a March 7 news release.
The hospital will be constructed in three phases across a 24- to 34-month period, which will include the construction of a two-story ambulatory center and the hospital itself.
Around 500 to 1,000 jobs are expected to be created for the area once the hospital is complete.
The hospital is part of multiple projects going on at the system, including a new 24/7 emergency department and 10-bed acute care hospital in Fort Scott, Kan., that will open later in 2025.
