The new four-story, 150,460 square-foot patient tower will replace an aging building that will be turned into an outpatient facility. The tower will house 27 more beds than the current facility, an emergency department, trauma center, labor and delivery suites and a neonatal intensive care unit.
Beyond the patient tower, the campuswide upgrade will include a new pediatrics unit on the sixth floor of an existing building, an emergency mental health observation center and a new parking garage.
Hospital officials expect to break ground in the first quarter of 2019. They expect construction to end in 2020.
