Smilow Cancer Hospital at Greenwich in Connecticut will receive a $25 million grant recommended by an anonymous donor.
The gift will support the hospital’s building fund and is being made in honor of Dickerman Hollister Jr., MD, a retired oncologist who spent his four-decade career treating patients in the Greenwich area, according to a Dec. 17 news release from Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Hollister retired in 2022.
The funding will enable expansion of the hospital’s cancer services, including infusion therapy, a multispecialty clinic, radiation oncology, breast cancer care and an inpatient unit. The expanded space will also support the addition of medical and surgical oncologists, clinical trial access and advanced therapies.
