Cone Health to build $275M North Carolina hospital

Greensboro, N.C.-based Cone Health is seeking state approval to build Cone Health Mebane (N.C.) Hospital, a $275 million facility. 

The certificate-of-need submission for the 161,578-square-foot hospital comprises 46 acute care beds, 15 emergency department bays, seven observation beds, three general operating rooms, three obstetric labor, delivery and recovery beds, a cesarean-section operating room, and imaging, ancillary and support services, according to an April 15 news release. 

Cone Health Mebane is expected to be complete in 2028 and will open in 2029, pending state CON approval.
