12 accountable care, shared savings agreements in February

The following list includes accountable care organizations and collaborative care agreements that were announced, launched, expanded or ended in February, beginning with the most recent.

1. 13 rural hospitals to form ACO
Hamilton, Mont.-based Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital and the local medical group, Ravalli Family Medicine, are banding together with a dozen other rural hospitals in Montana, Idaho and Wyoming, to launch an ACO.    

2. UnitedHealthcare, Florida Accountable Care Services launch ACO
UnitedHealthcare and Orlando-based Florida Accountable Care Services are launching a joint accountable care program effective April 1 to improve patients' health and satisfaction while lowering costs.

3.Dickinson County Healthcare joins ACO
Iron Mountain, Mich.-based Dickinson County Healthcare System joined a Medicare ACO to better coordinate care, improve patients' health and reign in costs.

4.Aetna, Mount Sinai Health Partners launch ACO alliance
Aetna and New York City-based Mount Sinai Health Partners, a clinically integrated network including Mount Sinai Health System and select physicians, inked a three-year deal to enhance coordinated care and lower costs through accountable care.

5. River Health ACO drops out of Next Generation program
Just weeks after its selection as a Next Generation ACO, Harrisburg, Pa.-based River Health ACO chose to leave the program because it would not be able to meet the required cost targets.

6. Health Net, University of California expand ACO to employees
Los Angeles-based Health Net of California is bringing accountable care to employees at University of California campuses in Davis, Irvine and San Diego this year.

7. Cigna, Sequent Health Physician Partners roll out accountable care agreement
Lawrenceville, Ga.-based Sequent Health Physician Partners teamed up with payer Cigna for its first accountable care program.

8. Cigna adds 5 collaborative care agreements in Florida
Cigna announced expanded collaborative care programs to 75,000 more Floridians through five new agreements, bringing its total number of collaborative care arrangements in Florida to 13.

9. Aetna, Meridian Health form product-based ACO: 4 things to know
Health insurer Aetna and Neptune, N.J.-based Meridian Health created a co-branded, commercial, product-based ACO.

10. Florida Blue, Palm Beach ACO partner up
Florida Blue and Palm Beach ACO, based in West Palm Beach, Fla., are teaming up to provide high quality, efficient care in South Florida.

11. Aetna teams up with Delaware Valley ACO
Aetna inked an accountable care agreement with Villanova, Pa.-based Delaware Valley ACO for roughly 70,000 commercial customers in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

12. 2 NC hospitals join National Rural ACO consortium
Two hospitals in North Carolina's Surry County joined the National Rural Accountable Care Consortium.
