Avera Sacred Heart Hospital purchases SD specialty hospital

Yankton, S.D.-based Avera Sacred Heart Hospital acquired the 10-bed Lewis & Clark Specialty Hospital, also in Yankton, according to the Yankton Daily Press & Dakotan.

A spokesperson for Avera told the Press & Dakotan the transaction includes the purchase of LCSH’s family medicine clinic, physical therapy clinic and imaging center.

The physician practices in LCSH’s building will remain independent and will lease space within the facility, according to the report.

Officials expect to finalize the transaction April 1.
