Under the collaboration, patients will continue to see their local providers, but Mayo Clinic clinicians will provide an additional layer of support and expertise.
Beacon Health System patients will also have the opportunity to connect with Mayo Clinic clinicians through online e-consults.
The health system went through an extensive six-month review by the Mayo Clinic Care Network before the partnership was finalized, according to the report. Beacon Health System is now a subscriber to the Mayo Clinic, which includes an annual fee, though Beacon did not disclose the cost of it.
