Chirlane McCray, first lady of the city, launched the campaign Monday, which includes television, print, online, subway and bus ads. The ads feature people talking about their personal experiences with bipolar disorder, depression, anxiety and addiction.

The New York City Health Department is funding the ads, which will run through June 30, according to the report.

Ms. McCray said the ads are designed to “change the mindset around the mind” by combating the stigma of mental health conditions and showing recovery is possible. She is also leading a citywide effort to expand access to mental healthcare.
