Along with the credit rating affirmation, Moody’s also assigned ratings to Winfield, Ill.-based Cadence Health’s bonds, since Cadence recently joined NHMC’s obligated group. Moody’s assigned an “Aa2” rating to Cadence’s series 2009, 2009B, 2003A, 2003B, 2003C, 2002A, 2002B, 2002C and 2002D fixed rate bonds.

The affirmation of NMHC’s rating was supported by a number of factors, including the system’s excellent investment position and solid operating margin.

The system also faces some challenges, which were considered for the rating action, such as operating in an increasingly competitive consolidating market.
