Sonoma (Calif.) Valley Hospital has named Kelley Kaiser as its next president and CEO, effective in early November.

Ms. Kaiser was selected by the Sonoma Valley Health Care District Board of Directors in conjunction with San Francisco-based UCSF Health, following a unanimous vote during a special session held Oct. 9, according to an Oct. 9 hospital news release. Her appointment is pending approval by the UCSF chancellor and onboarding requirements.

Ms. Kaiser brings more than 25 years of leadership experience, most recently serving as chief administrative officer at Corvallis, Ore.-based Samaritan Health Services, a five-hospital system with more than 100 clinics, health plan operations and approximately 6,000 employees.

Ms. Kaiser will succeed Ben Armfield, the hospital’s CFO, who has served as interim CEO since April.

Under the hospital’s affiliation agreement with UCSF Health, the CEO is employed by UCSF Health but reports directly to the Sonoma Valley Health Care District Board, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the UCSF Health Affiliates Network president.
