Providence Montana taps cardiologist as chief medical officer

Missoula-based Providence Montana Service Area named Daniel Spoon, MD, chief medical officer.

Dr. Spoon, an interventional cardiologist with the Providence Heart Institute, will step into the role Sept. 22. He is dedicated to advancing quality of care and education and has plans to move Providence St. Patrick Hospital to a position of national prominence through physician engagement and innovation, according to a Sept. 22 system Facebook post.

Previously, he served as director of research for Providence Montana and the cardiovascular medical director of the Providence System Innovation Institute.
