California hospital names new CEO 4 months after reopening

Sony Sidhu, DNP, RN, has been named CEO of Madera (Calif.) Community Hospital.

Dr. Sidhu has more than 20 years of healthcare experience, most recently serving as CEO of Central Valley Specialty Hospital in Modesto, Calif., according to a July 3 hospital news release shared with Becker’s. She has also served as chief nursing officer, according to her LinkedIn profile.

She succeeds Steve Stark, who is returning to Gridley, Calif., to be closer to family, according to the release. Mr. Stark was named CEO in August amid the hospital’s reopening efforts.

The 106-bed acute care hospital reopened in March after closing in January 2023 and filing for Chapter 11 protection two months later.

Since reopening, the hospital has reestablished emergency, lab, imaging, medical-surgical and ICU services, the release said.
