Advocate Health names chief philanthropy officer: 3 things to know

Charlotte, N.C.-based Advocate Health has appointed Shannon Duval as its new chief philanthropy officer.

Three things to know:

1. Ms. Duval brings nearly 30 years of experience in philanthropy and healthcare leadership. In her new role, she will oversee the health system’s philanthropic strategy and alumni relations efforts.

2. Before joining Advocate Health, Ms. Duval served as the global chief development officer for Ronald McDonald House Charities, where she led initiatives to grow financial and in-kind support and advanced global development strategies across more than 60 countries.

3. Ms. Duval has a strong background in academic medicine, national health charities, community-based healthcare, and large health systems. Her previous roles include deputy chief philanthropy officer of Chicago-based CommonSpirit and chief development officer and national foundation president for Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives.
