The deal will now go to the Miami-Dade Board of County Commissioners for approval.
The main agreement was a decision by Jackson management to halt efforts to outsource physicians and other staff members at Jackson Memorial’s adult emergency department and the system’s rape treatment center. Jackson also settled a lawsuit filed by the SEIU over the system’s elimination of 1,100 positions last spring.
Other aspects of the agreement are highlighted here.
