Clifton-Fine is a small hospital with a lower volume of patients than other hospitals in the region, but its financial struggles — a result of decreasing Medicaid and Medicare reimbursements — are similar to other hospitals.
The hospital has put out a request for proposals to healthcare providers in Syracuse, N.Y., and North County, N.Y. According to the report, the hospital is looking for a partner to help with administrative functions, information technology and access to specialty services.
