Anesthesiologist Dr. Sue Carlisle Named Vice Dean of UCSF School of Medicine

The University of California at San Francisco School of Medicine has appointed Sue Carlisle, MD, PhD, to the position of vice dean.

Dr. Carlisle earned her PhD from Tulane University in New Orleans, La., and her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She completed both her residency and fellowship in critical care in anesthesia at UCSF.

Dr. Carlisle joined the UCSF faculty in 1990 and is currently professor of clinical anesthesia and medicine. She previously held school leadership positions, including chief of anesthesia and associate dean.
