Both partners in the joint venture have agreed to take on Bay Medical Center’s current policy for indigent patients, but the lease deal does not contain language that requires management to maintain that level, according to the report.
In fiscal year 2010, Bay Medical Center provided roughly $31.5 million in uncompensated care. That total was about 14 percent of its total revenue and 7 percent above the national average.
