The job cuts and reassignments aim to improve efficiency across the health system’s operations. The company began notifying staff about the changes Friday.

Earlier this week, rumors surfaced about the health system cutting hundreds of jobs. Memorial Health System CEO Scott Cantley told The News Center those rumors are unfounded.

The company — which operates Marietta Memorial Hospital, Marietta-based Selby General Hospital and Belpre (Ohio) Medical Campus, among others — employs approximately 3,000 people.
