6 healthcare organizations become DirectTrust members in Q1 2017

DirectTrust added six new members to the Direct exchange network. Members of the network focus on interoperability, securely sharing health data.

The six new organizations to become DirectTrust members are:

•    Sutter Health, based in Sacramento, Calif.
•    Health Record Banking Alliance  
•    Timmaron Group
•    Moxe Health
•    Uticorp
•    Anne Arundel Medical Center, based in Annapolis, Md.

With these new additions, DirectTrust includes 124 members.

At the end of the first quarter of 2017, the number of healthcare organizations served by DirectTrust health information service providers and engaged in Direct health data exchange increased 63 percent to nearly 95,000, compared with the same period last year. There were 35.6 million Direct exchange transactions in the first quarter of 2017.
