Stephen R. Mason. CEO of BayCare Health (Clearwater, Fla.). At the helm of this 13-hospital nonprofit system sits Mr. Mason, who joined BayCare in May 2004. He has more than 30 years of healthcare experience and a master’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Minnesota. After moving to Florida from Texas, where he was senior executive vice president and COO of Arlington-based Texas Health Resources, Mr. Mason has ingratiated himself in the community: He was on the board of the Florida Hospital Association and the Tampa Bay Partnership, for instance. Mr. Mason plans to retire in 2016.
