Peter L. Slavin, MD. President of Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston). Dr. Slavin was appointed president of Massachusetts General Hospital in 2003. In addition to completing his training in internal medicine at Massachusetts General, he was as senior vice president and CMO from 1994 to 1997. He then served as president of St. Louis-based Barnes-Jewish Hospital for two years, but returned to Boston in 1999 to become chairman and CEO of the Massachusetts General Physicians Organization, which included more than 1,700 physicians. Dr. Slavin is also a professor of healthcare policy at Boston-based Harvard Medical School, where he teaches internal medicine and healthcare management.
