Mercy Medical Center (Baltimore). The Orthopedic Specialty Hospital at Mercy Medical Center opened in 2002 and features four divisions covering spine surgery, joint replacement and extremities care. The hospital is home to four joint surgeons and one sports medicine physician as well as an upper extremities physician and three foot and ankle physicians. Four spine surgeons and a nonoperative orthopedic physician also provide care at Mercy Medical Center, which records more than 6,500 orthopedic cases, of which more than 1,700 are joint replacement cases, per year. Blue Cross Blue Shield Association designated Mercy Medical Center a Blue Distinction Center+ for hip and knee replacement surgery, and U.S. News & World Report honored the hospital among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for adult orthopedics for 2017-18.
