Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford (Palo Alto, Calif.). The children’s hospital opened in 1991, serving as Stanford Children’s Health main entity. The 302-bed hospital offers pediatric and obstetric services within six centers of excellence: brain and behavior; cancer; heart; pregnancy and newborn; pulmonary; and transplant. The hospital is planning to open a new facility designed as a family-friendly and sustainable hospital for children and pregnant women in the summer of 2017 that will double its campus size. U.S. News & World Report ranked Lucile Packard among the top 10 children’s hospitals nationwide for 2016-17.
