Only eight hospitals and health systems have been awarded the Centers of Excellence in Nutrition and Dietetics Designation from the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Organizations must meet excellence criteria in four domains: quality of leadership, organization, practice and outcomes. The designation lasts five years.

- University of Maryland Medical Center (Baltimore) — 2026-2031

- Tucson (Ariz.) Medical Center — 2025-2030
- UMass Memorial Medical Center (Worcester, Mass.) — 2025-2030
- UW Health (Madison, Wis.) — 2025-2030
- Valley Medical Center (Renton, Wash.) — 2024-2029
