The workforce reduction comes six months into a partnership between the hospital, formerly known as Jordan Hospital, and Boston-based Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.
BID-Plymouth President and CEO Peter Holden sent a letter to donors recently that revealed details of the hospital’s cost reduction initiative, including mid-year, non-salary adjustments totaling approximately $1 million and staff reductions totaling $330,000, according to the report.
A BID-Plymouth spokesperson said employees and unions were informed of the reductions about a month ago, but would not discuss which specific positions will be affected, according to the report. He did say the majority of positions affected were part-time and the majority of full-time positions that were reduced were non-union positions.
