Mark Marcantano resigns as president of Women & Infants amid financial strain

Mark Marcantano, president and COO of Providence, R.I.-based Women and Infants Hospital, has resigned effective Friday, according to The Providence Journal.

Mr. Marcantano's resignation comes as Women and Infants goes through a period of financial turmoil as its parent company, Providence, R.I-based Care New England, is acquired by Boston-based Partners HealthCare.

"Mark's contributions to CNE and Women & Infants during his tenure have been far reaching and brought about significant results that have strengthened Women & Infants' leadership role both in New England and across the country," said Care New England CEO Dennis Keefe.
