COO Michael Rowan to leave CHI

Michael T. Rowan, president of health system delivery and COO of Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives, will depart from his role at the end of the year.

Mr. Rowan has served at CHI since March 2004.

"Michael Rowan, Catholic Health Initiatives' president for health system delivery and chief operating officer, will be leaving the organization at the end of December 2016 after a long and successful career at CHI to explore a number of other opportunities in the healthcare industry," CHI spokesperson Michael Romano said in an emailed statement. "Rowan has served as a top executive at CHI for the last 12 years, helping to bring the organization together as a single, integrated enterprise to better focus on its faith-based mission and strategic objectives."

As president and COO, Mr. Rowan provides strategic direction and management oversight for all of CHI's locally based healthcare services, clinical operations, national business lines, information technology and performance management.

Previously, Mr. Rowan served as executive vice president and COO at St. John Health in Detroit. Prior roles include president and CEO of Humility of Mary Health Partners in Youngstown, Ohio; executive vice president and COO of Sarasota (Fla.) Memorial Health Care System; and vice president of Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Ga.
