10 latest hospital, health system executive moves

The following hospital and health system executive moves were announced or made in the last week. They are listed below, beginning with the most recent.

1. Walnut Creek, Calif.-based John Muir Health was named Thomas August the system's CISO, beginning April 13.

2. The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia promoted Madeline Bell, its president and COO, to president and CEO.

3. Ed Banos, CEO at Upper Peninsula Health System in Marquette, Mich., will leave his position for an opportunity at University Hospital in San Antonio.

4. DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital in Detroit named London A. Quicci COO, effective May 4.

5. Johns Hopkins Medicine in Baltimore appointed Robert A. Kasdin to the newly created role of senior vice president and COO.

6. G. Daniel Martich, MD, Pittsburgh-based UPMC's CMIO, is leaving his position this month to join West Virginia United Health System in Morgantown as system CMO, effective June 1. 

7. Daniel Napierkowski, MD, was named the new president of Cleveland Clinic's Euclid (Ohio) Hospital, beginning May 13.

8. Federico "Fred" Martinez, CEO of St. Charles Parish Hospital in Luling, La., will retire later this year. 

9. Cincinnati-based TriHealth appointed John Ward as CIO, a position he has held in the interim capacity since December 2014.

10. Vancouver, Wash.-based PeaceHealth has named Michael Murphy, MD, as its first system-level CMO, effective June 15.
