The restructuring is designed to have regional service units work more closely together and eliminate redundancies, a spokeswoman told the Business Journal. As part of the reorganization, 113 positions have been eliminated in the St. Louis and Washington, Mo. Areas because of streamlining of work.

In 2009, Sisters of Mercy Health had 36,000 employees and $3.9 billion in revenue.
