The expanded partnership will combine the organizations’ cardiothoracic surgery teams and make primary care physicians from both organizations part of Lourdes Health’s accountable care organization, LHS Health Network, according to the report.

“Our two organizations have been collaborating to develop a regional center of excellence for cardiovascular services,” David Knowlton, St. Francis chairman of the board, said in the report. “Together, we are poised to have one of the most extensive and busiest minimally invasive cardiac surgery programs in the country.”

St. Vincent announced the partnership alongside the appointment of Vincent Costantino to the role of Chief Administrative Officer.
