The marathon will serve as a qualifier for the Boston Marathon.The two-day event will also include a half-marathon and two trail runs. The event brings back to life the Durango Marathon, which ceased in 2006. Animas CEO Brett Gosney played a large role in resurrecting the event.
Animas Surgical is sponsoring the races as the cornerstone of its charitable giving program and expects the event to bring a $300,000 economic impact to the community.
