Labor costs are the biggest drivers of expenses in most healthcare organizations. A significant portion of hospital executives' time and resources are spent on efforts to reduce labor costs without affecting patient safety or quality of care.

The American Hospital Association has launched the AHA Workforce Center, an online resource of tools for recruitment, engagement, retention, diversity and succession planning, according to an AHA News Now report. 

The hospital sector added 5,300 jobs in July, according to the latest statistics from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
