King’s Daughters Hospital Lays Off 20

King’s Daughters Hospital in Temple, Texas, confirmed that it has laid off 20 clerical and administrative staff members, or 8 percent of its workforce, according to a report by KWTX News.

The cuts were in response to operating losses resulting from fewer patients, higher expenses and bad debt, according to the report.

The hospital’s board of directors is currently considering a merger and other options to deal with its financial troubles.
