Two Texas Hospitals Consider Merger

King’s Daughters Hospital and Scott & White Healthcare, both located in Temple, Texas, have entered into a nondisclosure agreement in a first step towards a potential merger, according to a King’s Daughters news release.

John Cunningham, chairman of the King’s Daughters Hospital board of directors, cited tough economic times and current pressures in healthcare as reasons for considering the merger. King’s Daughters and Smith & White will enter into exploratory discussions before finalizing their plans.
