Indiana’s first-of-a-kind staffing pool gains nurse association’s support

A recently launched healthcare staffing resource in Indiana has gained the support of the state’s nursing association.

In June, the Indiana Hospital Association partnered with Matchwell, a job marketplace platform, to create a statewide flexible staffing pool. The Indiana Resource Pool allows the hospital association’s 170 members to view vetted clinicians available for shift or contract jobs.  

“This innovative partnership will allow hospital members the opportunity to showcase their job openings directly in front of a pool of qualified Indiana licensed clinicians with the end goal of filling open shifts and contract work without an agency involved,” the Indiana Hospital Association’s website states. 

Within 90 days of the program’s launch, around 30% of registered nurses in Indiana had joined the platform, leaders at the Indiana Hospital Association and Matchwell previously told Becker’s

The initiative is believed to be the first of its kind in the country.
