Employees at Amazon can earn more than $19 per hour on average and receive sign-on bonuses between $1,000 and $3,000 in select locations. The positions include work in stowing, picking, packing, sorting and shipping customer orders, according to an Oct. 6 Amazon news release.
The states with the largest number of open positions are California, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Missouri, Oregon, Texas, Tennessee, Utah and Washington.
