That’s one day after negotiations are supposed to continue, a spokeswoman for National Nurses United, which represents 1,500 University of Chicago Medicine nurses, said in the report. Thus far, negotiations have involved staffing levels and overnight shifts, among other issues, Jan Rodolfo, Midwest director of National Nurses United, told the Chicago Tribune.
The strike, if authorized, would last one day.
The report cites a blog post by Debi Albert, chief nursing officer at University of Chicago Medicine, in which she wrote, “We do not want an NNU strike and are committed to bargaining in good faith.”
