Regina Medical Center Nurses Authorize Strike

Unionized nurses at Hastings, Minn.-based Regina Medical Center — a member of Minneapolis-based Allina Health, have authorized a strike, according to a Pioneer Press report.

The nurses, members of the Minnesota Nurses Association, are asking Allina to offer them the same benefits being offered at other Allina facilities in the area, according to the report.

An Allina spokesman told the Pioneer Press the system is "disappointed" in the strike vote. He said the system's current contract offer includes wage increases and better benefits.

No strike date has been set, but the vote authorizes an MNA committee to issue a strike notice.
