Here are four things to know about the agreement.
1. About 309 registered nurses and licensed practical nurses, represented by United Independent Union Local 2, ratified the contract last week, according to the report. The old contract expired in May.
2. Under the new contract, workers will receive 2 percent raises this year, and 1.5 percent raises each of the next two years.
3. Some aspects of the contract nurses wanted to address, such as easier access to supplies, were not addressed, said Amy Hower, vice president of United Independent Union Local 2, according to the report. Ms. Hower told The Morning Call that union officials would like to continue discussions over such with hospital management.
4. Hospital officials expressed pleasure in reaching an agreement. “The professionalism and commitment of our nurses and all individuals employed by Easton Hospital is a key part of our ability to provide quality, personalized care for our patients,” hospital spokesman Stephen Wilson said, according to the report.
