Hospitals Cut 4,400 Jobs in July

Though the U.S. added 162,000 jobs in July, hospitals cut 4,400 jobs during that time, according to the most recent seasonally adjusted data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The healthcare industry as a whole added 2,500 jobs last month.

Several rounds of major hospital and health system layoffs contributed to July’s job losses.
