Boston Medical Center to move workers to Charlestown: 3 things to know

Boston Medical Center is relocating hundreds of workers, the hospital said Tuesday, according to a Boston Globe report.

Here are three things to know about the move.

1. BMC plans to move about 800 workers to the Charlestown neighborhood in Boston by 2017.

2. The move will affect IT staff, along with the medical center's subsidiary BMC Healthnet Plan.

3. Moving the workers to office space in the Charlestown building will make room in BMC's South End neighborhood campus for clinical use, according to the report.
