Hundreds of UMass Memorial jobs to be relocated: 5 things to know

UMass Memorial Health Care in Worcester, Mass., is bringing 500 jobs to the city, according to a Telegram & Gazette report.

Here are five things to know about the jobs.

1. The jobs are in information technology.

2. UMass Memorial will lease a vacant former mall space to house the jobs.

3. Between 160 and 200 of the 500 UMass Memorial jobs that will be moved into that space will be new jobs, a UMass Memorial spokesman said, according to the report.

4. UMass Memorial will relocate IT staff who are currently in many of the hospital group’s buildings to the new space.

5. UMass Memorial will start bringing the jobs to downtown Worcester by the end of the year.
