The facility is a federally qualified community health center and is supported by a federal grant through the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The Floating Hospital received a $920,833 federal grant for 17 months and will receive $650,000 annual grants through 2016 to support the center.
The center will provide preventive care, wellness visits, disease management, prenatal care and basic care for the sick, according to the report.
