After a member of the Vagos biker gang was shot and taken to the hospital, visitors for the unidentified member began showing up in the hospital’s emergency room. This prompted a lockdown for over an hour as a precautionary measure for the safety of patients and staff.
These types of lockdowns occur when a patient admitted to the hospital “is brought in under certain circumstances that might pose a danger to others,” Arturo Delgado, a spokesperson for the hospital, told the Santa Fe New Mexican.
Mr. Delgado said in a statement that patient flow was not impacted during the lockdown. The lockdown has since been lifted.
