The facility’s board of directors said the closure was necessary in light of the organization’s financial plight. The hospital has long struggled to stay financially viable amid rising healthcare costs and trimmed reimbursements. According to the report, the hospital’s 150 employees recently did not receive a paycheck.

The board of directors will submit a closure plan to the state next week.
