Saint Vincent Health System Reclaims Original Name in Highmark Deal

Saint Vincent Health System in Erie, Pa., has adopted its original name, Saint Vincent Hospital, as part of its affiliation with Pittsburgh-based, Highmark-operated Allegheny Health Network, according to an Erie Times-News report.

Saint Vincent Hospital was the name of the facility when it opened in 1875, and the reclaiming of this name marks a return to its “roots,” Saint Vincent President and CEO Scott Whalen, PhD, said, according to the report.

Saint Vincent officially became part of Allegheny Health Network July 9.
