Police said a man stole a vehicle and fled from deputies. Sanford Police Department deputies found the vehicle near the back of Central Florida Regional Hospital after receiving a call about an armed man trying to get in an occupied vehicle.

Sanford Police spokesman Ronny Neal said the suspect ran in front of the hospital, threw down his gun and took off.

Although the suspect never went inside Central Florida Regional Hospital, the facility was placed on lockdown during the incident.

The hospital confirmed Monday morning that the lockdown was lifted, according to the report.

Deputies are still searching for the suspect.
