Presbyterian Rust Medical Center to close NICU

Rio Rancho, N.M.-based Presbyterian Rust Medical Center’s neonatal intensive care unit will close in about a month, according to KOB-4 News.

Officials said declining patient volumes has made the NICU, which has been open since 2011, financially unsustainable, according to the report.

Officials will reportedly work with affected employees to help them transition into other roles within the hospital. It is unclear how many employees will be affected by the closure.
